Indian juggernaut, Micromax, had earlier shown an inclination to expand its global footprint and it appears that Russia would be the the first of those uncharted waters the company wades into. Micromax has unveiled its first octa-core powered smartphone, Canvas Knight A350, with Moscow getting first dibs.
Canvas Knight sports a 5-inch IPS display with full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) resolution at 441 ppi, and is powered by the 2GHz variant of MediaTek’s newly fabricated MT6592 chipset featuring eight separate Cortex-A7 cores. A 16-megapixel primary camera assisted by an LED flash handles imaging responsibilities, while a 5-megapixel front facing shooter is present for your video calling needs.
2GB of RAM and 32GB on board storage fill out the flash memory department of the spec sheet. The (supposedly) dual SIM device runs on Android 4.2 Jelly Bean, and packs a 2350 mAh battery unit in a frame measuring just 7.3mm in thickness. Connectivity should be covered via 3G (HSPA+), WiFi b/g/n, Bluetooth and A-GPS.
Micromax Canvas Knight, to our eyes, does look distinctly like an over-stretched version of iPhone 4S, which may be a good thing or bad. After all, imitation is the best form of flattery, isn’t it? The phone is expected to enter Indian markets soon enough carrying a price tag somewhere between Rs. 23,000 to Rs. 24,000.
